SURFING IN SOUTH EAST CORNWALL
Surfing in South East Cornwall can be fickle, however on the right day it can be a magical place to surf.
Surf spots in South East Cornwall:
Whitsand Beach
Whitsand beach consists of different sections, from Main to Freathy to Tregantle. All offer fun beach break waves and are the biggest swell pullers in the area. These are the most popular areas to surf due to the fact that they pick up the most swell and there is plenty of room. It can occasionally get busy but the beach is huge so you can usually get a quiet peak somewhere.
Seaton
Doesn't pick up as much swell as Whitsand but is a little more protected. A beach break popular with Longboarders at low tide, Seaton can offer some fun waves.
Looe
If it's huge, Looe is a popular spot because it is very protected. A short, hollow, punchy beachbreak that breaks on the beach next to the harbour, Looe can get busy but can be a fun powerful wave. |
